Ocean and Mountain views were the main inspiration during the design process of this modern 800 square meter villa overlooking the majestic Camps Bay landscape. The villa is designed to house two international families with shared facilities to use as their Cape Town retreat. Uninterrupted panoramic views framed by elements that provide the necessary privacy while eliminating the threshold between inside and outside.

The clients brief called for a renovation respectful of the historic value and family inheritance sheltered by this holiday home. New spaces were designed and detailed in a light and modern language to enhance the experience and weight of the historical buildings.

This design brief required open living served with the privacy required in any Estate. The main design feature is a flexible courtyard that connect the inside spaces while offering an outside private experience. Light filled spaces with high ceiling volumes add to the spacious feel of this house.

A hideaway on a private game farm. Steel frame construction provided the perfect opportunity to design & detail simplistic and elegant spaces that seamlessly connect to the outside. Wall materials were left raw and untreated to blend colours with the landscape and reinforce the connection to the beautiful African Bushveld.

Modern house on Lifestyle Farm designed to embrace the magnificent views over the Stellenbosch winelands. Spatial characteristics of an Art Gallery enabled the notion of framed views placed against walls to add to the established art collection of the client.

A mixed use development planned on a prominent corner site in Panorama. The development consist of Medical practice/consultation rooms on ground floor and luxury residential units on the upper floor. The units are placed around a central, light filled and spacious courtyard.

An Experimental project to test the possibilities and feasibility of holiday living units that are easily transported to any location. Research were done on ways to respond to different environments and also spatial qualities while making use of a modular system.

This Commercial Centre is situated on a very important and busy intersection. Developments in the area provided the owners with the opportunity to renovate and restructure the tenant layout.
The R304 is marked as a visual corridor leading into Stellenbosch and therefore the design inspiration remain the local vernacular but with some modern elements. Bulky facades walls, with interesting details, will be constructed to add the necessary weight to the building. Filtered sunlight will animate the courtyards.
